Casino Night 2009

A portion of the net proceeds from this year's casino night will benefit Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund (HDSF). Since 1996, HDSF has helped nearly 1,000 students to college through the combination of their year-long college & career prep programs and the awarding of over 1,805 new and renewal academic college scholarships. HDSF works to empower DC public high school youth, so they can find their best pathways to college, career, and life success.

The mission of DC Central Kitchen is to use food as a tool to:

• Strengthen Bodies, by safely recovering unserved food from local foodservice businesses to feed children and adults throughout the Washington area
• Empower Minds, by providing culinary job training for unemployed men and women and community service opportunities for youth and adults
• Build Communities, by providing working examples, innovative solutions, and shared technology to a cooperative and effective national network of programs that use food to make change in their communities.
